Cham Island Hoi An Quang Nam Viet Nam
Cham Island The legendary Green Island, which is located at Latitude 50 degrees and longitude of 108° to 108° 34 is about 18 km East of the mainland and consists of a small island including Lao, Dai, Mo, Tai, Ong, La, Kho me and Kho con. It has a total natural area of 16,42km with a population of 2,241, who are living on Lao island.
Due to the influence of tropical monsoon climate and tectonic movement, the scenery is very beautiful, poetic, and unique. The fauna and Flora are abundant with lots of typical species, especially salangane and Macaca mulatta that are listed in the Vietnam Red Book.
Because of its historical and cultural depth and its outstanding universal value, UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere Council recognized Cham Island, Hoi An as a World Reserve on May 26, 2009.
